Check Out The Rock's Jungle Cruise Castmates Surprising Him On The Set Of Hobbs And Shaw

Dwayne Johnson may already be on to his next project, but he's still hanging out with his Jungle Cruise co-stars. Recently, the hardest working man in showbusiness shared an image of himself on the set of Hobbs and Shaw but he's not hanging out with Idris Elba or Jason Statham. Instead, he's chilling with Emily Blunt and Jack Whitehall. Check it out.

While the Rock is a serious action hero, he's rarely the guy in the photo who's being the most serious, and yet, here we are. Rocky looks stoic, but on his right is Emily Blunt making a funny face, and on his left is Jack Whitehall wearing a weightlifting belt incorrectly. They certainly make for an interesting trio.

Exactly why both of them decided to drop by the set of Hobbs and Shaw together isn't clear. Perhaps this is just part of The Rock's marketing deal with Disney. In addition to the three actors being in Jungle Cruise together, both Blunt and Whitehall are also in Disney movies this year. Jack Whitehall plays a soldier in the recently released The Nutcracker and the Four Realms and Emily Blunt plays the title character in next month's Mary Poppins Returns.

Dwayne Johnson makes sure to mention these things in his Instagram post, so while it could be that these three actually became close friends on the set of their movie, it could also just part of The Rock's massive marketing power. The only reason the picture was likely taken on the set of Hobbs and Shaw is simply because The Rock never stops working and that's the only place where you can catch him. Who cares, it's a fun picture.

It's such a fun picture that it makes it a little sad that we're not going to get a chance to see these three on screen nearly as soon as we thought. Originally, Disney's Jungle Cruise was set for release in just under a year, October of 2019. However, it was recently pushed back to July of 2020.

This is probably good news for the movie itself. The prime summer release spot means Disney thinks the film will do well there, which means the movie could be quite good. The expectations for a summer movie are still high and Disney wouldn't put Jungle Cruise in July if it didn't think the film could compete. However, if it's that good, it's that much more annoying that we have to wait.

Comparisons have been made between Jungle Cruise and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, at least in what Disney is trying to accomplish. Both are action-adventure films based on Disneyland attractions. The first Pirates movie was a pretty massive hit, both commercially and critically, the sequels were only able to achieve success in the latter category. It would seem likely Disney is hoping to do both things well once again. If it is able to be a success on the level of The Curse of the Black Pearl we can be nearly certain this will be the beginning of an all-new franchise.





Im not sure i can pinpoint one specific scene, but Naked Lunch included some incredibly graphic and in some cases gory descriptions of homosexual sex/murder. I will also have to say that Naked Lunch contains some of the most comical and bizarre scenes of any book i have ever read. Pick up a copy if you have a strong stomach, its an amazing "novel".

What The Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie Will Reportedly Be About

It seems like every day we learn more and more about a movie that we're not even 100% sure actually exists, but now we have rumors of an actual plot attached to the equally rumored Obi-Wan Kenobi movie. While Lucasfilm has yet to let the world into their plans post-Episode IX, rumors have continued to swirl that not only do they have a plan, they've already begun pre-production on a Star Wars Story spinoff film about the life of Obi-Wan Kenobi that would be set between the original and prequel trilogies. While none of this has been confirmed, it's now being reported that a production bulletin that includes a plot synopsis has leaked, which claims the new film will see Obi-Wan Kenobi be forced to come out of hiding when tensions between local farmers and a tribe of Tusken Raiders, led by a ruthless war chief, rise to a breaking point.

While all of this, from the plot synopsis revealed by TMZ to the existence of the movie itself, needs to be treated as rumor until such time as it's been confirmed by Lucasfilm, a lot of rumors about this particular project seem to be coming out of the word work, and there aren't a lot of rumors about any other Star Wars movie being planned for 2020. Unless we think Star Wars is actually going to take a year off, and I certainly don't believe that, the studio has to be in the early stages of working on something and this makes as much sense as anything.

While many of the rumors, like a planned start to filming, are generally vague, others, like this plot, and even the film's potential director, Stephen Daldry, are quite specific. That certainly gives them the feel of legitimacy. The only fact that we really have is that Ewan McGregor is more than willing to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and he's currently the perfect age to play the role mid-trilogy.

The plot suggested here certainly works as far as it goes. It would allow for the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi to get involved in a situation that would have plenty of action and tension, without it being on the level of the whole Rebel vs. Imperial fight. It wouldn't make sense from the perspective of the larger Star Wars universe for Obi-Wan to draw too much attention to himself since he's supposed to be hiding, but a local skirmish on the planet furthest from the bright center of the universe would be just about right.

One of the more important pieces of information that has not yet been rumored, is who wrote this synopsis. If there's a general plot outline, somebody had to create it, and that person is likely working on a script right now, assuming it hasn't already been completed. It's a pretty key detail that has surprisingly remained uncovered, assuming any of this actually true.

Why The New Mutants Reshoots Are A Good Thing, According To Anya Taylor-Joy

While comic book movies are everywhere, 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise was largely ahead of the game. The Marvel mutants have been occupying the silver screen since the 2000 original, and the property is showing no signs of slowing down. Aside from the main franchise installments, there's also the Deadpool movies, and the upcoming superhero horror flick The New Mutants. Directed by Josh Boone, the film will follow a group of young superpowered kids, as they fight for survival in a shady facility. After the first trailer premiered, fans are eager to see more of the movie, which has been delayed over a year to facilitate reshoots and Fox's release schedule. Actress Anya Taylor-Joy will play Illyana Rasputin / Magik in the upcoming blockbuster, and recently revealed what the reshoots are focusing on.

I think we're making the movie that we set out to make, in the beginning. That's what we're going to end up delivering to people. It feels like the movie we all signed up to do, which is good.

Well, this is exciting. Despite a later release date and some reshoots, it appears that The New Mutants is working hard to deliver what it promised: a bonafide horror movie set in a comic book universe.

Anya Taylor-Joy's comments to Collider will likely be a relief for the X-Men fans out there. Because while the franchise preceded the MCU and DC universe, the results have been a bit of a mixed bag. Projects like Logan and Deadpool were appreciated by critics and comic book fans, but installments like X-Men: The Last Stand and Apocalypse prove that the X-Men franchise is a bit hit or miss. Now let's hope that The New Mutants doesn't end up becoming the latter.

Excitement about The New Mutants began before it even began filming, mostly due to its cast of familiar faces. Fans are eager to see Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, as well as Stranger Things' Charlie Heaton and Anya Taylor-Joy herself. And rather than a fun and scrappy tale of young X-Men, The New Mutants will follow as its superpowered protagonists struggle with their mental health, mutants abilities, and the forces that keep them trapped in the facility. This ain't Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, that's for sure. So bring on the jump scared and unsettling imagery-- the fans are ready.

As far as Anya Taylor-Joy's Magik goes, there are definitely exciting places to take the character in the future. She's actually the sister of X-Man Colossus, who has become a bigger character thanks to his role in the Deadpool franchise. It should be interesting to see if the siblings ever get a chance to meet on the big screen. And with Fox and Disney's merger looming in the background, it's also possible that she could eventually show up in the MCU.
